Math Placement Information
Your math placement at UNF is based on
many factors including: your intended major, dual enrollment course work, accelerated mechanisms and, most importantly, your score on the UNF math placement test. At your scheduled new student orientation, you will meet with your Academic Advisor to discuss these and many more factors that will help you select a math course that best supports your academic goals.
The math placement exam is a proctored exam, therefore it is only available to take on campus. Students have the opportunity to take the math placement test prior to their orientation session, and can sign up after they have registered for orientation. Taking the math placement exam before attending orientation allows you to have more time to focus on other important preparations for your first semester, and will, in most cases, allow you to leave earlier on the second day of orientation. If you are unable to take the exam early, do not worry, we will offer time for you to take it during your orientation session on the second day.
Once you have signed up for New Student Orientation you can access the
ALEKS math placement exam through the Math Placement Course in Canvas
located in your myWings account. It's best to use a Chrome browser.
We strongly encourage you to access this course, take a practice exam and
utilize the practice modules prior to taking the proctored version of the exam
on campus. Please note: When students are taking the proctored exam on
campus on the dates listed below the practice test will not be accessible. If
you log into take the practice test and are prompted for a password, please
exit, and try again later.
