Pre-Orientation Information

The Swoopapalooza Orientation session will be very busy as you acclimate to the UNF campus. Therefore, there are many things you will need to take care of in advance of your scheduled orientation session to ensure the smoothest transition possible.

To Do Checklists  Checklist 1

The pre-orientation checklist will help you prepare for your orientation session and entering UNF. It is vital you take care of each of these actions as you prepare to begin your first semester at UNF. Download the appropriate checklist  for the term you are entering. Place this checklist in an important place (on the refrigerator is always great) and check off the items as you complete them.

Placement Exams

Freshmen are required to take certain placement exams to determine the appropriate level of courses in which they should enroll. These online exams should be completed prior to attending Freshmen Orientation. Use the following links to learn more and access the exam.

Writing Placement Exam

All freshman students are required to take the UNF Writing Placement exam prior to attending their scheduled orientation session. This exam is used to assist UNF's academic advisors in correctly placing students in the appropriate English course. Students who have not completed the exam at least 14 days prior to their orientation automatically forfeit their seat in their scheduled orientation session.

Foreign Language Exam

The Department of Languages, Literatures and Cultures encourages all future language students who have completed two or more years of high school French or Spanish, or who have significant language skills due to heritage or life experiences, to take the free online placement test. This test will place you at a level commensurate with your ability.

Math Placement Exam*

All freshman students are required to take the UNF Math Placement exam prior to attending their scheduled orientation session. It is important you take this exam seriously as it will be used to place you in the correct math courses at UNF.  Students who have not completed the exam at least 10 days prior to their orientation automatically forfeit their seat in their scheduled orientation session.

*If you have a documented disability and believe you may qualify for extended time on tests and quizzes, please contact the Disability Resourse Center at (904) 620-2769.
