Sociology Professor Discusses 'The End of Policing'

Dr. Alex Vitale, sociology professor at Brooklyn College, will discuss the limits of the most common police practices as well as popular police reform initiatives. He will stress the need to develop alternatives to relying on police, such as local programs to fight for restorative justice, anti-violence initiatives, better schools, improved housing as well as strong mental health and drug treatment services.
