Dear Neuroscientist, I’m just dancing around it
I can’t quite get there, but I know it lies somewhere behind
a swath of song floating above the soap bubble dishes
a rendition of “Amazing Grace” just for the glasses
the forks, the knives, plates, spoons
a “how great thou art” when getting ready for school
the more I try to locate it in the darkness
the more the light makes it move
and the less sure its location
the physicists can’t help me; can you?
