How do you help veterans succeed?
I help Veterans succeed through education. I do that through showing them where they can find the answer to their question, not just giving them an answer.
What’s the best advice you can give an incoming Veteran?
First, don’t be afraid to ask for assistance. Second, “Plan”. Plan out your roadmap to success, “Where do you want to be in 3-5 years?” Third, prepare. Prepare and cut back on expenses and don’t spend your stipend before you receive it. I see Veterans count on their stipend check to make payments for their rent and bills and this month the check is delayed and then they are in a bind; build a reserve and have a fall back plan.
What do you like to do for fun?
I like hanging out with friends, catching a movie or just sitting out in the backyard next to a fire. I like spending time with family, even if it is jumping in the car and driving around different neighborhoods. Bottom-line, I just like having fun.
