The Acquisitions Department is a part of the Technical Services Division of the UNF Library. The Division also includes the Cataloging and Serials Departments.

ACQUISITIONS RESPONSIBILITIES

The Acquisitions Department handles the ordering and receiving of all books and media.

Requests submitted by University faculty and staff are considered high priority, budget permitting. Student requests are also welcome. Please note that in accordance with our Collection Development Policy, we do not purchase textbooks, although we sometimes make exceptions on a case-by-case basis. Library collection development personnel handle most other selections.

Budget limitations sometimes result in purchasing delays, but the Department maintains a request file and tries to provide a balance in purchasing materials to support all academic departments.

Requests may be submitted via the book request form. We will also accept a printed list - mailed, faxed, or sent as an email attachment, as well as a marked catalog or blurb - just be sure your name and department are on it and the items are clearly marked. Please check the library catalog to determine if a specific request has been ordered, and contact us to check its status if it is not there. Time and staff constraints prevent us from returning request forms.
