WHO WE ARE AND WHAT WE DO

Staffed by information professionals, the Reference Department is the primary information center for the University of North Florida Library, providing library patrons with user education, research assistance, and numerous guides to the many print and electronic resources available in the Library. The Reference Department of the University of North Florida Library provides the university community with professional reference service in person, by email, and by phone. You may also use the Ask a Question form or contact a librarian by e-mail at libhelp@unf.edu. Although we accept inquiries from anyone in the community, priority will be placed on questions received from UNF faculty, staff, and students. 

LOCATION

The Reference Desk and the Reference Office are located on the second floor of the Library. The Reference Desk, which is staffed many of the hours the Library is open, is located right off the 2nd floor lobby. Library users needing assistance in learning to use the Library's resources or seeking guidance in efficiently locating materials in the Library are encouraged to consult with the Reference Librarian on duty. 

REFERENCE DESK HOURS

Except during semester breaks and spring break, Reference Librarians are available for consultation at the Reference Desk according to the following schedule:

Sunday	1 PM - 9 PM
Monday	9 AM - 9 PM
Tuesday	9 AM - 9 PM
Wednesday	9 AM - 9 PM
Thursday	9 AM - 9 PM
Friday	9 AM - 6 PM
Saturday	9 AM - 6 PM

If a Reference Librarian is not in the area and you are looking for assistance during Reference hours, remain at the desk and someone should be available to assist you in a short time. Since Reference staff is limited, the desk may at times appear to be unstaffed while librarians assist other library users. If assistance is unavailable for any reason, Reference staff will post a sign at the desk alerting users.
