GENERAL INFORMATIONThe Reference Department is the primary information center for the Thomas G. Carpenter Library. The Department provides user education, research assistance, and numerous guides to the many print and electronic resources available in the library. Although the department's primary clientele are UNF researchers, reference staff field questions from researchers all over the world. The Department's User Education Program provides training ranging in scope from brief individual orientations to instruction designed for specific classes. In addition, the library's one credit course, LIS 1001 (BLISS), provides semester long training in research and electronic data retrieval techniques.
LOCATIONThe Reference Desk is located on the second floor of the library. Library users needing research assistance, assistance in learning to use the library's resources or seeking guidance in efficiently locating materials are encouraged to consult with the reference librarians on duty.
