  • NetLibrary FAQs
  • You can search for NetLibrary books in the UNF catalog using the advanced search. Type netlibrary in one search box and your keyword or title or author, etc., in another search box.
  • You can also search in NetLibrary itself.

ARTICLE LINKER AND CITATION LINKER

  • When searching a library database, if the full text of an article is not immediately available, click on the Article Linker icon to see a menu of options for finding the full text.
  • If the full text is available in another database, you will see a link to the article. Many times you will have several full text options.
  • If full text is not available, you can automatically search the library catalog to see if the journal is available in the library in print.
  • If it is not available either way, you can send off an Interlibrary Loan request with the click of a mouse.
  • You can also see if the journal is scholarly or refereed.
  • Citation Linker lets you look for the full text when you already have a citation (author, title, journal, volume number, etc.)

E-JOURNAL PORTAL

  • Find out which database has the full text of a particular journal.
  • Find lists of journals by subject area.

You can use Ulrich's International Periodicals Directory  to find out which database indexes a journal or magazine. It is available here. You must log in to use Ulrich's if you are off campus. You may also use CUFTS. This tool is maintained by Simon Fraser University in British Columbia, Canada.

Many databases use journal abbreviations.  Here is a list of abbreviations for medical journals.  Here is a list of general journals.
