Here are examples of subject headings and keywords you can use to find books in the UNF Library -- or any library using the Library of Congress Classification. Public libraries typically use the Dewey Decimal System.

- Indians of North America -- Southern States -- History -- Sources
- Florida -- History -- Civil War, 1861-1865 -- Personal narratives -- (when you see personal narratives, you know it is a primary document)

- History Databases - Recommended: America: History & Life, JSTOR, American State Papers, U.S. Congressional Serial Set
- General Databases -- includes all subject areas. Recommended: Research Library, Academic OneFile

Interlibrary Loan
- You can order books, articles and primary documents through Interlibrary Loan if the UNF Library does not have what you need.
- Many times you can request an ILL straight from the Article Linker page -- after you have checked to make sure the library does not have the item either in print or electronically.
