WHAT DO I NEED TO ACCESS UNF LIBRARY SERVICES?
If you are a current UNF affiliate you must have a UNF official
ID card called the Osprey 1Card. If you reside out of the immediate
UNF area, call the ID Office at 1-888-290-2030. Here is more information about the Osprey 1Card.
Other distance learners sponsored by a participating institution
must provide a valid ID card and/or number from that institution
to request distance learning Host services at the UNF Library. Not
every institution provides the same electronic resources. The institutional
affiliation associated with your ID card numbers determines which
electronic databases you are eligible to use remotely. It is strongly
suggested that you access electronic resources through your own state
university library or community college library web pages.
WHAT LIBRARY SERVICES ARE AVAILABLE TO ME?
Your Osprey 1Card is required to access
restricted resources.
- FLORIDA HOST LIBRARY NETWORK. The Florida Distance Learning
Library Initiative (DLLI) has developed a network of State University
System and Community College libraries. These libraries have agreed
to welcome distance learners from the other participating
institutions to use their collections and resources and provide
reciprocal borrowing privileges. Privileges may vary at each library.
- BORROWING PRIVILEGES. Students and faculty currently affiliated
with a participating State University System of Florida or Community
College System of Florida institution may have reciprocal borrowing
privileges at any of the participating institutions . These privileges
are governed by the policies, procedures, terms, and conditions
set by the lending library.
- INTERLIBRARY LOAN/DOCUMENT DELIVERY SERVICES. Students, faculty,
and staff affiliated with a State University System of Florida
institution may request interlibrary loan services directly from
any other State University System of Florida institution main
library. This agreement supports only SUS affiliates.
- ELECTRONIC WEB REQUEST FORMS. Request forms for
various library services are available. Some direct interactive
transaction services with the Library's automated system are also
available, with other features and services under development.
- COURSE RESERVES. As a Host library service, faculty from one
SUS institution may put print materials on course reserve at another
SUS main library. Electronic reserves must be provided by
the library at the sponsoring institution. This service is limited
to SUS faculty on behalf of SUS students at other SUS libraries.
- ACCESS ELECTRONIC CATALOGS AND DATABASES. While electronic catalogs
are usually not restricted, licensed databases and services are
usually restricted to use only by current students, faculty, and
staff of the purchasing institution. The terms and conditions are
set by the database provider or publisher.
- Most UNF electronic resources are available off campus to current UNF students, faculty and staff.
