Summer Update More
Online Full-text Journals We've been busy the past few weeks! You now have electronic access to an additional 600 or so major research journals. They cover just about every subject and are really quite impressive. Oxford Journals Online provides the full text of over 130 research journals covering area studies, art history and visual culture, biology, biochemistry, classics, communication studies, computing and engineering, economics and business, genetics, health sciences, history, language studies, law, literary studies, mathematics and statistics, medicine, music, neurology and neuroscience, oncology, philosophy, political science, psychology and psychiatry, religion, and sociology, social policy and social work. Here is a list of the titles. Blackwell Science and Munksgaard form the partnership called Synergy. They give you electronic access to over 300 research journals covering medicine and health sciences, life sciences, earth science. Their major focus is medical research journals. Here is a list of the titles. Both of these services cover only the last 3 or 4 years, usually from 1998-99 through the current issue. Finding the Full-text Journals Will be a Breeze It will soon be even easier to find out which journal is in which database - a problem with which we've all struggled. You will be able to type the name of the journal you want
in a search box and go directly to it - thanks to some techno-magic by
UNF's Bob Jones and a Seattle, Washington company, Serials Solutions.
ILL Goes Paperless Beginning July 1, interlibrary loan services will be provided in a completely paperless environment. You can submit requests electronically from any computer with Internet access. The password protected system not only promises faster turn-around time for ILL requests, but also allows you to track your requests online and receive e-mail notifications. To learn more about ILLiad, contact the ILL Office at x2615, or visit the UNF Library website to set up your ILLiad request account at http://illiad.unf.edu/illiad/logon.html. Reserve Your Library Instruction Time Now It's not too early to reserve your date for fall classes. The request line is already beginning to hum. You can use the online form to secure your class instruction date and time. What's New Be sure to check the What's New link on the Library's webpage. We'll keep you up to date so you can inform your students.
