University Archives Spotlights
UNF Distinguished Professors

Come visit the exhibit of UNF Distinguished Professors in a new display in University Archives/Special Collections (3rd floor). Every Distinguished Professor from the inception of the Award (1979) to date is represented, along with their published works and recorded performances. These 25 academicians are a very distinguished group indeed, with significant scholarly and artistic accomplishments.

Did You Know ---

  • ...you can find out which database has the full text of a specific journal by using the E-Journals quick link on the Library's Web page?

  • ... Lexis-Nexis Academic Universe has the full text of hundreds of national, international and regional newspapers - updated several times daily?

  • ... you can peruse over 78,000 works of art in AMICO Library, a new database available to UNF faculty, staff and students?

  • ...you can get the full text of back issues of the Chronicle of Higher Education in Lexis-Nexis Academic Universe? (Back to September 1997)

  • ...you can read full-text articles from such diverse publications as Hurricane Alice: A Feminist Quarterly, National Coalition of Free Men and American Woman Motorscene in GenderWatch database?

  • ...you can find citations to articles from almost 300 alternative publications including Dark Night Field Notes, Dissent, Ethnography, Freethought Today and Gray Panther Network in Alternative Press Index?

  • ...you can practice your French, Spanish, Dutch and German in foreign language newspapers in Lexis-Nexis Academic Universe?

If you want to know about more cool things you can read at your desk or in the comfort of your home, we'll be happy to arrange a special session for you and your colleagues in our 4th floor instruction room. If you want us to concentrate on a specific database or set of databases, we can do that, too.

1,500 Students Receive Library Instruction

During the first two months of 2002, the Library's Instruction Team taught 1,500 students basic library research techniques and how to access and use the Library's impressive array of research databases. Subject-specific Web pages were prepared for several of these classes. Take a look.

Now's the time to reserve a space for your classes for the summer and the fall. The calendar fills up quickly and early. Here's the online reservation form.

We Value Your Input

The Annual Library Survey gives us a lot of information that helps drive our programs, budget and services. Please take a couple of minutes to complete the 2002 Online Library Survey.

What's New
