First Floor

When people first enter the library they get the impression that the entry floor is the first floor. There is actually another floor below the entry floor, but there are no outside public entrances to the floor. Access is only via the front lobby elevators and stairway.

There are two main areas on the first floor: the library's Technical Services Division and the Media Resources Department. Media is a public services area while the Technical Services area is a library staff work area.

Once you enter the first floor lobby either from the main stairway or the front elevators, you will see Media's double glass doors. You will also notice a few wooden card catalogs. These are empty and are all that remains of the old fashioned catalog. The catalog is now completely computerized.
