Outlook - Change Display Name Guide

Notes Before Starting

  • When you are sending an email, it will show your display name.
  • At random times, your display name may change back to your legal name.  It is suggest to check every so often.

Desktop Version

Step 3: Login again.

Step 4: Click outside of the right sidebar or click on cancel in the sidebar.

Step 5: You can change "First name", "Last name", "Initials", and "Display name" to your prefer name.

Notes:
  • Display name needs to be in this format: Last, First.
  • Initials should only be two letters.
  • Use proper capitalization when fill in spots.

Step 6: Click on "Save", which is above profile picture.

Step 7:  Congratulation!!!

Notes:
  • It will take a few minutes to an hour before it apply the change. So wait before sending emails after doing this.

Website Version

Step 3: Click on "General", which is located on the left side.

Step 4: Click on "My account".

Step 5: You can change "First name", "Last name", "Initials", and "Display name" to your prefer name.
