Volunteer

Are you a UNF Student (enrolled in at least one class) that is interested in volunteering at the Pantry?

Thank you for expressing a sincere interest in all we try to do for the students here at Lend-A-Wing. To volunteer at the Pantry, there are a few steps that our volunteers must take before they can come in to help out. A purple student conduct reporting form must first be picked up from 58E/3104. Please make sure you note that you are seeking to volunteer at Lend-A-Wing on the form. Once completed, that form must then be taken just down the hall in room 3401. After this has been completed, please email your contact information to lawadir@unf.edu. We will then get in contact with you to arrange a time once the paperwork has cleared. We ask that you please be patient with us during this process.

Please click the link below to contact our Assistant Director, Dawn, if you have any further questions.

Featured Recipe of the Month

 broccoli soup

Crockpot Cream of Broccoli Soup

Ingredients

1 Bag Frozen Broccoli
1 Bag Shredded carrots (I shredded my own because whole carrots are cheaper)
2 cans cream of vegetable soup (your choice, i.e. broccoli, celery, etc.)
Black pepper to taste
Water/ milk/ soymilk as needed

Directions

1. Open soup and pour into crockpot
2. Add enough water/ milk/ soymilk to consistency of your choice
3. Add frozen broccoli and carrots
4. Season with pepper
5. Turn crockpot on low and cook for 6-8 hours. If you cook it on high it might cause the soup to separate.

Substitutions: Oh the possibilities!

- Add crunch and smokiness with chopped bacon
- Be adventurous with your veggies! You can use potatoes or even cauliflower instead of broccoli.
- Add some heat with white pepper, Tabasco or Sriracha
- Watch your salt by using reduced sodium soups
- Any cream of vegetable soup will make this vegetarian but you can mix and match with one can of cream of chicken and a cream of a vegetable of your choice if you want a meaty flavor.
- You can do cheddar cheese soup and broccoli to make it super cheesy. YUM!
