The Scholarship Application System is a system that allows students to apply for some scholarships electronically. Currently, the scholarships are limited to some Admissions Scholarships and some Foundation Scholarships. These Scholarships are defined using the Scholarship Application System Control. However, if a student meets the criteria of more than one scholarship, then they may be considered without the necessity of submitting multiple applications. In addition, the system provides a way for the Admission Coordinator to gather important data about each student when considering them for an award. This information is now provided electronically, thus reducing the need for manual input (and potential errors) of information available within Banner.
As part of the Scholarship Application System the Scholarship Coordinator needs to selects students for various scholarships. The Scholarship Application Screen allows the user to enter various criteria to return a list of students who have a scholarship application and meet the specified criteria.
Effective Term or Effective Term and Scholarship are required fields. If the Scholarship is selected, only students already assigned to the scholarship will be displayed.
The Scholarship Coordinator will use this screen to assign students to scholarships and rank them. Some students will be selected for an Interview and/or will be Offered the scholarship. When Interview or Offered are indicated, then an attribute is added to the students application record. The attributes are set up using the Scholarship Application Attributes Controls screen.
If the user is authorized in the Scholarship Management System to award scholarships, then when a term and Scholarship are selected, the Load SMS button will be displayed. When the Load SMS button is selected, an SMS award will be created for the listed students.
