Our Partners

The Confucius Institute at the University of North Florida works collaboratively with its partners: Hanban, Shaanxi Normal University, Duval County Public Schools and Jacksonville Chinese School.


Hanban/the headquarter of Confucius Institute, is the institution directly under the Chinese Ministry of Education, committed to developing Chinese language and culture teaching resources and making its services available worldwide, for meeting the demands of overseas Chinese learners to the utmost degree, and to contributing to global cultural diversity and harmony (learn more).


Shaanxi Normal University is a key institution of higher learning directly affiliated to the Ministry of Education in the People's Republic of China. It is situated in the ancient capital city of Xi’an, Shaanxi province, China. It is a key university under the construction plan of China’s national “211 Project" and a university under China’s Innovation Platform Construction Plan of the“985” (learn more).


Duval County Public Schools continues to expand their Chinese programs. Currently, there are nine schools, four high schools, three middle schools and two elementary schools, providing Chinese language/culture programs. High schools consist of 1) Stanton Preparatory School, 2) Williams M. Raines High School, 3) Jean Ribault High School and 4) Mandarin High School. Middle schools that offer Chinese language/culture teaching include 1) Jean Ribault Middle School, 2) Mandarin Middle School and 3) James Weldon Johnson Middle School. Two elementary schools are 1) Rufus E. Payne Elementary School and 2) Mandarin Oaks Elementary School


Established in 2003, Jacksonville Chinese School  aims to provide Chinese language/culture instruction and learning to Jacksonville community. The Jacksonville Chinese School is committed to providing each child with a nurturing and inspiring Chinese educational program in addition to striving for cultural exchanges between the Chinese community and other ethnic groups.
