Peace Awareness Week
Conflict Transformation Symposium: lectures, panels, festival on the Green, performing art presentations, and Peace Mural interactive exhibition by Houng.
Tuesday, October 2nd
The University of North Florida's 35th Anniversary Luncheon
Friends and supporters of UNF were invited to a luncheon hosted by President Delaney, honoring community leaders Tom Carpenter, Jim Citrano, Jack Diamond and Adam Herbert with the UNF Presidential Medallion for Outstanding Service.

Inquiry & Insight Lecture featuring Alphonso LingisLingis is professor emeritus of philosophy at Penn State University and is considered to be one of America’s most influential philosophers.

Family Weekend for UNF Students
The Robert W. Loftin Nature Trails, Aquatic Center, Hayt Golf Learning Center and Dottie Dorion Fitness Center were open throughout Family Weekend to family members visiting their students.

UNF vs. Lipscomb Volleyball
The UNF volleyball team will played the first of a weekend pair of matches against teams from Nashville at UNF Arena.

"Swoop Madness!" Basketball Celebration
The men's and women's basketball teams opened practice for the 2007-08 season with a celebration that promises plenty of fun. Festivities began with the first official practices of the fall for both squads. In addition, the night featured interactive games and prizes, raffles, giveaways and chances for Osprey fans to get involved in the action. The event included a "Slam Dunk Challenge," a 3-point shooting contest between the men's and women's squads, and performances by the UNF cheerleaders and dance team.

The UNF volleyball team played the defending Atlantic Sun Conference tournament champions.
Tuesday, October 16th
Ken Burns Lecture
The American documentary filmmaker spoke on the “Implications of World War II” as part of the Presidential Lecture Series. The event is co-hosted by UNF and the World Affairs Council of Jacksonville’s Global Issues Forum.
Thursday, October 18th
Irish Studies Lecture featuring Chris Smith
Dr. Christopher Smith is an associate professor of musicology and director, Vernacular Music Center at Texas Tech University. “Come West Along the Road: Constructing Ireland’s Electronic Identity” is a multi-media lecture, suitable for all ages and groups.
Friday, October 19th
"Ireland in America: A Seisiun of Traditional Irish Music"
In concert are Professor Christopher Smith and Professor Angela Mariani, assistant professor of Music History and Literature at Texas Tech University School of Music. Both head the Irish traditional music band, Last Night’s Fun.
Saturday, October 20th
Eight-time Grammy winner Natalie Cole kicked off the Fine Arts Center’s fifth anniversary season.
Sunday, October 21st
"An Upbeat Pink - On the Run"
This concert supported the National Marathon to Fight Breast Cancer. It featured the UNF Wind Ensemble, conducted by Dr. Gordon Brock. Special Guests included Donna Hicken, First Coast News, and Dr. Edith Perez, Mayo Clinic. Sponsored by the Mayo Clinic.

Buster Browning Roast
The UNF Athletics Department held its annual fundraiser roast by taking shots at longtime supporter and former Osprey Club President Dr. Buster Browning.

Groundbreaking for Osprey Fountains
The University held a ceremony to mark construction of UNF’s newest residence halls.
Thursday, October 25th
Great American Jazz Series
The UNF Music Department kicked off the 20th Anniversary of the Great American Jazz Series showcasing the talented Jazz Studies Faculty. These accomplished artists combined for an evening of world-class jazz. Led by jazz legend Bunky Green, performers included include Danny Gottlieb, Dennis Marks, J.B. Scott, Barry Greene, and Marc Dickman.

UNF Faculty Woodwind Quintet
The premiere performance of the UNF Faculty Woodwind Quintet featured faculty members Rhonda Cassano, Guy Yehuda, Claudia Minch, Carin Miller, and Kevin Reid.
