UNF TV
The University of North Florida produces a half hour, monthly public affairs talk show called “UNF: Campus Connection.” This show features students, faculty, programs and services from UNF. This show airs in Jacksonville on CW-17 and Comcast. It also airs on public access channels in Boca Raton, Tampa, Brevard County, Central Florida, Palm Beach County, Polk County, St. Johns County, Sarasota County and throughout the Florida panhandle. In addition, the show airs across the country on the DISH Network.

This show features Dr. Michael Wiley, a UNF English professor, and his new award-winning mystery novel, “The Last Striptease.” The show also features UNF management instructor Fred Pragasm, and senior Alex Chavez, a UNF marketing major. The two discuss a trip UNF business students took to Zambia, Africa, to aid budding entrepreneurs.

Dr. Adam Shapiro, chair of the Sociology and Anthropology department, and student Peter Sabotka discuss the study of human behavior and Peter’s internship working with survivors of human trafficking. The second segment features Ambassador Nancy Soderberg, a visiting distinguished scholar in UNF’s Political Science and Public Administration department. She and her student, Estelle Lee, answer questions about the trip the class took to Washington D.C. to meet with government leaders to discuss nuclear weapons.

This show features Dr. Stephan Nix, director of the School of Engineering at UNF, and Ramon Colon, a UNF senior engineering student. They discuss the growing field of engineering. The show also features Dr. Dan Richard, a UNF psychology professor, and UNF alum Jonathan Hawkins. The two discuss a study abroad trip to research conflict resolution. In the final segment, Dr. Judy Rodriguez, UNF nutrition professor, and Dr. Cathy Christie, nutrition program director at UNF, discuss their new book “The Diet Selector,” which gives the skinny on 75 different diets.

This show features UNF Sport Management Professor Dr. Jennifer Kane and her student Rita Hailey discussing how the program prepares graduates for a wide variety of careers. The second segment features UNF Political Science Professor Dr. Hyunsun Choi and his student Nick Norman talking about a study abroad trip to South Korea. The final segment highlights Nicole McKnight, whose recent internship in Washington D.C. gave her the opportunity to work with underprivileged children.

This show features Dr. Sherry Shaw, associate professor of American Sign Language/English Interpreting, and Kelly Warren, a UNF student in the ASL/English Interpreting program. They discuss UNF’s new ASL/English Interpreting bachelor’s degree program. Dr. Paul Harwood, assistant professor of Political Science and Public Administration, also discusses his new book “Educating the First Digital Generation.” Jenny Hager, visiting instructor of sculpture, and Aisling Millar, a UNF sculpture student, talk about the University’s Sculpture Program and the department’s first iron pour.

Dr. Janice Seabrooks, associate professor of special education, and Eshell Sampson, a UNF special education graduate student, discuss the On Campus Transition program for students with developmental disabilities.

UNF Biology professor Dr. John Hatle and his student Erin Fuller discuss a research project on aging and reproduction. This research involves studying the life cycle of grasshoppers. The show also features a segment on the transition from high school to college with interviews of Dr. David Jaffee, the UNF Assistant Vice President of Undergraduate Studies and Augie Rotella, a UNF freshman.
