The School of Nursing at the University of North Florida is seeking participants in a heart health study, targeting Filipino women in order to answer heart health questions related to diabetes and cholesterol from 7 a.m. to noon Saturday, Nov. 19, at Blessed Trinity Hall, located at 10472 Beach Boulevard.
Your heart holds the answers. Your participation is needed to help piece the heart together. Come have your blood drawn by health professionals and take part in a 400-person study that will help show geneticists a way forward. Thirty to 45 minutes of your time today can save many Filipino women in the future. There will be free screenings, food, music and massages.
If you are a female Filipino, aged 40 to 65 and don’t suffer from acute or chronic inflammatory diseases, cancer or lupus, you may be able to participate. Eight hours of minimum fasting is required.
