The
University of North Florida volleyball team will host a series of camps
this summer at UNF Arena on the campus of UNF beginning in July.
"This is our first year doing overnight camps and we are really excited
about that," said head coach Kevin Campbell. "We have also moved our
camps from three days to four days. It is exciting to be able to expand
our camps."
The
first camp is set for July 12-15 and it is a Player Development Camp
for ages 8-18, beginning at 8 a.m. and concluding at 4:30 p.m. There
will be a second Player Development Camp July 19-22. Both camps are
commuter camps. Player Development Camp is geared toward newcomers to
the sport of volleyball. It is designed to improve player skills in all
positions and foster a love for the game.
High
Potential Camp is July 19-22, beginning at 9 a.m. and concluding at 9
p.m. This camp can be attended as either a day camper or an overnight
camper and is for high school varsity level. High Potential Camp is for
those who are advanced in the game. The campers will be trained in a
similar fashion as to how a collegiate volleyball player would be
trained.
July
13-14 is Junior Osprey Camp for ages 4-8 from 9 a.m. until noon. Junior
Osprey Camp is for those who are just getting started in the game of
volleyball. It will give young volleyball players a chance to have fun
while learning the fundamentals of the game.
Single
day Player Position Camps will be held July 16 and July 23 for ages
8-18. These camps will intensely focus on building campers skill level
at various positions on the court.
The
Ospreys will hold their final camp July 25-28 with National Team
Competition Camp. This camp can be attended as either a day camp or
overnight camp. It will consist of both skill development and team
competition. There is limited space in team camp and spots are filling
quickly. Teams must have a minimum of eight players and no more than
12.
All
camps include a snack, t-shirt and lunch (Junior Osprey Camp does not
include lunch). Overnight camp also includes breakfast, dinner and
housing.
