Tuesday, April 15, 2003Presidential Candidate Visits Announced
The dates of visits by six presidential candidates to the University of North Florida campus have been finalized.
The schedule is as follows: John A. Delaney, mayor of Jacksonville, Monday, April 21; Steven G. Poskanzer, interim president of State University of New York at New Paltz, Tuesday, April 22; Perry Moore, senior vice president and provost, Wright State University, Wednesday, April 23; Gary Krahenbuhl, senior vice president and deputy provost, Arizona State University, Thursday, April 24; Arthur T. Johnson, provost and vice president for Academic Affairs, Friday, April 25; Linda Bunnell Shade, former senior vice president for higher education for The College Board and former chancellor University of Colorado at Colorado Springs, Monday, April 28.
The seventh candidate, Terry L. Hickey, senior vice president and provost of University of Akron, has withdrawn from consideration following his appointment as provost at the University of Central Florida last week.
The search committee will interview each of the candidates from 7:45 a.m. to 10:15 a.m. in the President's Conference Room, J.J. Daniel Hall. All other interviews will be at the Robinson Student Life Center, Rooms 1601-1602 according to the following schedule: 10:30 to 11:15 a.m. - Administrative&Professional (&) employees; 11:30 - 12:15 p.m. - University Support Personnel (USPS); 2 to 2:45 p.m. - vice presidents, academic deans, directors and chairs; 3 to 3:45 p.m.- Faculty Association; 4 to 4:45 p.m. -Student Government.
All meetings are open to the public.
Following the interviews, the search committee will recommend finalists to the UNF Board of Trustees. The board will then invite the finalists back to UNF for a second round of interviews before making a final decision.
