Former Zambian President to Speak
Dr. Kenneth David Kaunda, former president of the Republic of Zambia, will speak Thursday, Dec. 11, at 2 p.m. at the University Center on "A Dialogue: Future Challenges of Africa." His speech is free and open to the public.
Kaunda led Zambia to independence and served as its first president, from 1964 to 1991. He is the first Balfour African President in Residence at Boston University's African Presidential Archives and Research Center and is speaking out on Zambia's two major challenges, HIV/AIDS and poverty.
The presentation is sponsored by the President's Office, the Intercultural Center for PEACE, the International Center, and the Office of the Vice President for Student and International Affairs.
Fall Graduation Friday
Almost 980 students will graduate Friday, Dec. 12, in two commencement ceremonies at UNF. The College of Arts and Sciences and College of Computing, Engineering and Construction will have their graduation ceremony at 3 p.m., and the Coggin College of Business, College of Education and Human Services, and College of Health will have their ceremony at 7 p.m. Both ceremonies will be in the Arena and are free. Tickets are required and are available from the Ticket Box Office at 620-2878.
