An Evening of 20th Century Music

Music professor and percussionist Charlotte Mabrey will host her annual concert, “An Evening of 20th Century Music” on Saturday, August 24 at 8 p.m. in the Robinson Theatre.

Guest performers include Peter Wright, principle clarinetist with the Jacksonville Symphony Orchestra, Robert Arleigh White, executive director of the Jacksonville Cultural Council, Greg Isabelle, a recent UNF percussion graduate who is currently working with Wes Borland in Los Angeles and members of the UNF percussion Ensemble.

The performance pieces include three solo marimba works based n Brazilian folk tales, a percussion duel and “Stick Shtick,” which includes stomping, moving and loud good fun. Admission is free.

Back To School

While classes don’t begin until Monday, Aug. 26 UNF students are invited to attend a week of Welcome Back Week activities Aug. 23-30 featuring parties, music, barbecues, movies and sorority and fraternity rush.
