Each week we prepare a “TIP SHEET” for the Jacksonville area media highlighting events and activities of interest to the community. Individuals attending all events on campus are reminded that $2 parking permits are required and can be purchased at the Information Booth as they enter campus.

FAMILY DAY WEEKEND AT UNF
ews Lots of fun and exciting events are set for this weekend as part of UNF’s Family Day Weekend. Some of the highlights are: on Friday, Oct. 18 at 7:30 p.m. the Lady Ospreys volleyball team takes on Eckerd College at the Arena; on Saturday, Oct. 19, at 10 a.m., there will be an environmental lab tour and nature walk at the Hayt Golf Learning Center; at noon, a picnic lunch, pumpkin painting and games on the Green; at 1 p.m., Family Double Dare on the Green; at 7 and 9 p.m., “The Have Nots” comedy performances at the small recital theater at the Fine Arts Center; on Sunday, Oct. 20, at 8:30 a.m., a golf outing at the Hayt Golf Learning Center, plus a farewell jazz brunch at Wackadoo’s from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. For more information, call (904) 620-2132.

CHILDREN’S MIRACLE NETWORK DANCE MARATHON
UNF students will dance the night away in a 12-hour dance marathon from 7 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 26, to 7 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 27, to benefit the Children’s Miracle Network hospital. The event, sponsored by the Dance Marathon Club at UNF, will be in the Robinson Student Life Center (Building 14). For more information, contact Russell Wouters (unfdm@hotmail.com) or call 683-3253.

NO DOUBT&GARBAGE AT THE ARENA
ews No Doubt and Garbage will perform at the Arena on Sunday, Oct. 27. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and the concert begins at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $25 for UNF and FCCJ students, and $35 for the public. Tickets are on sale at all area TicketMaster locations or by phone through TicketMaster at (904) 353-3309 or online at TicketMaster.com. Student tickets are available on a cash-only basis at the UNF Ticket Box Office in the Fine Arts Center. For more information, contact the Osprey Productions Entertainment hotline at (904) 620-2460.

SUPERBOWL SPEAKER AT UNF
Michael Kelly, president and chief operating officer of the Super Bowl Host Committee, will speak on campus Wednesday, Oct. 30, at 6 p.m. in the University Center. The event is sponsored by the UNF Alumni Association. A reception will be held at 5:30 p.m. The event is free to all alumni and guests.
