UNF is nestled among 1,381 acres that include a nature and wildlife area with lakes and nature trails. A portion of the campus is used for scientific research, and area schoolchildren visit for environmental lessons.
UNF has five residence hall complexes, and all 2,300 on-campus residents receive free high-speed data access, and local phone and cable TV service.
The recently completed Science and Engineering Building is a 132,000-square-foot, $22.6 million building that will house the electrical, civil and mechanical engineering programs and the construction management program. It also will house the Department of Chemistry and Physics.
The Thomas G. Carpenter Library is being remodeled and expanded. The changes will allow for the expansion of the heavily used computer section, a new Special Collections area and a larger space for print collections.
