Beginning 7/1/2008, there will be changes in graphic design and photography work done by the Department of Marketing and Publications. Previously, the cost of graphic design and photography were charged back to the units requesting projects. However, due to state budget cuts, the position of executive secretary for Marketing and Publications was eliminated and therefore there is no one to handle the bill processing. Effective immediately, graphic design work done by the Department of Marketing and Publications will be handled on a prioritized basis and will not be charged back to the units. Graphic designers will work on projects important to the entire campus, or of high priority for a division.
Units that need assistance from Marketing and Publications should contact Director Dave Roman at ext. 2142 or mailto:D.Roman@unf.edu. If the graphic designers have time available, additional projects will be added to their schedule at no cost to the unit. If not, Marketing and Publications will make recommendations on cost effective ways to meet a unit’s needs by using outside vendors.
Another change this fiscal year will be photography. In the past, Marketing and Publications had a staff of student photographers and units would be charged to use these photographers for their photo needs. Again, due to state budget cuts this program is being eliminated. Marketing and Publications will keep a small number of student photographers on staff to take pictures for University-wide publications only. Units wishing to hire a photographer should contact the Purchasing Department at ext. 2730 for a list of approved vendors.
