COEHS Dean’s Office Wins Marketing Award

Publications recognized by the IMT

The Dean’s Office in the College of Education and Human Services has won the “No Place Like This” Award for the spring semester.

Members of the UNF Integrated Marketing Team selected the entry recently from seven projects submitted for consideration.

The project, a traveling display board, was submitted by Stacy Biwer, the college’s coordinator of outreach and recruitment. The board contains updated statistics about COEHS, comments by current students and information about why a person would want to become a teacher. The project, designed by Graphic Design Services in the Office of Marketing and Publications, has interchangeable panels that can feature information about graduate school programs.

Biwer said she takes the portable display board to recruitment fairs and open houses. It draws attention to COEHS and encourages prospective students to ask questions, request information and also allows them to make an initial contact with a college representative, she said.

Biwer is relatively new to the position, having started in January. She has a master’s degree in educational leadership from Cardinal Stritch University in Milwaukee and taught for 10 years in public schools including five years in Clay County.

Only one-tenth of a point separated the first-place entry from the second-place entry, which was submitted by Analee Kirby in Admissions.

The “No Place Like This” award was created by the Integrated Marketing Team to promote marketing projects that support the new UNF brand commitment. Each winning unit receives $1,000 to be used toward its next marketing project. The award is made in the fall and spring semesters.
