 Private international affairs consultant and lecturer; retired career foreign service officer with service in Latin America, Washington D.C. and the Near East; U.S. Ambassador to Guatemala 1993-96; taught in public schools for eight years in New York and Connecticut   


Education:

 B.A. in history from the University of Pennsylvania; master's degrees in history and education from Johns Hopkins University; post-graduate work in TV, Annenberg School of Communications, University of Pennsylvania;  was diplomat in residence at the Institute for the Study of Diplomacy at Georgetown University      


Activities:

  Past president and chair of the advisory committee of the World Affairs Council of Jacksonville; member of Community Hospice Board; former board member for the Jacksonville Port Authority; Baptist Beaches Medical Center and the Downtown Rotary Foundation     


Personal:

  Born in Portsmouth, NH; moved often as daughter of U.S. Navy officer; family members longtime Jacksonville residents; resides in Ponte Vedra Beach
