Nature of Work:

This is work maintaining a program for heavy construction equipment and training employees in the use of such equipment.


Typical Responsibilities:
  • Provides guidance and instruction in the safe operation of heavy equipment.
  • Serves as the principal resource on proper routine and preventive maintenance procedures.
  • Monitors the operating status of equipment and performs maintenance and repair activities.
  • Coordinates with maintenance supervisors on needs for heavy equipment support for projects.  

Basic Qualifications:

A high school diploma and possession of a classified driver's license, appropriate to the type of vehicle operated, and two years of experience directly related to the job function. Directly related college coursework or vocational/technical training may substitute at an equivalent rate for the required experience.
