Events Planning Assoc

Nature of Work:

This is work assisting in the planning of events.

Typical Responsibilities:

  • Maintains event registration for campus events.
  • Makes room reservation for events.
  • Schedules and organizes activities relating to campus tours for potential student and family.
  • Assists in the management and executes all logistical aspects of multi-day meetings, conferences or events.
  • Researches site locations and may conduct site visits/inspections to insure suitability and capability of vendors.
  • Establishes and maintains ongoing vendor relationships to ensure they are cost-effective and deliver quality service.
  • May prepare requests for vendor bids and reviews bids for competitiveness.
  • May negotiate site and service contracts for facilities, transportation, lodging, food, entertainment, events and related activities; advises clients on format, speakers, activities, and/or entertainment; plans; and monitors program budgets.

Basic Qualifications:

A high school diploma and two years of experience directly related to the job functions. Directly related college coursework or vocational/technical training may substitute at an equivalent rate for the required experience.
