John Yancey - Admissions
John Yancey takes an active role in helping students, faculty and staff navigate through internal enrollment policies and practices as well as the in working with the external community. His positive influence was recently documented in the compassionate manner in which he approached the admission of a prospective student who was homeless.


Soaring to Excellence (USPS)
Vernon Payne - Marketing & Publications
For more than 22 years Vernon Payne has provided creative magic to countless print projects that have benefited departments, saving units from across the campus outsource dollars. His most recent work is the development of the UNF Athletic logo.


Outstanding Achievement
Kathleen Cohen – Library
Kathy Cohen faithfully fulfilled the requirements of multiple roles during the planning and construction of the addition to the Carpenter Library, championing and implementing continuous public service throughout this period.


Quality Customer Service
Media Relations & Events Department
Whether it’s the unexpected cancellation of a Presidential lecturer, the planning of a major gift announcement or a health scare, the department of Media Relations & Events embraces each as opportunities to demonstrate superior customer service to internal and external clients. Most recently, the department has placed streaming video and radio interviews highlighting UNF faculty, staff and students on the UNF Web site.


University Suggestion
Ronda Mitchell – Center for Professional Development & Training
Ronda Mitchell has submitted numerous suggestions regarding parking, safety, transportation and e-communication that will be forwarded for consideration to appropriate departments.


The recipients will be ceremoniously recognized at the Professional Development Forum Luncheon to be held on April 12, 2007.

Outstanding Achievement
Phyllis Haeseler – College of Education and Human Services
Phyllis Haeseler began her work with the College of Education and Human Services over fifteen years ago and demonstrates a serious commitment to excellence. Ms. Haeseler’s many roles, which include budget manager, desktop publisher, editorial assistant, awards coordinator, and scholarship marketer contribute to the success of the College of Education and Human Services. She exhibits exceptional initiative, work ethic, and commitment to both the college and the University.


Honorable Mention – Shane Borden Auxiliary Services In addition to implementing several new programs and systems, Shane Borden provides excellent professional service and technical assistance to the systems managed by Auxiliary Services. Shane was instrumental in turning the concept of e-ticketing into a reality for University events.


Honorable Mention – James Starr - Center for Professional Development & Training
Whether providing technical expertise, individualized customer service or administrative proficiency, the Center for Professional Development and Training relies on the invaluable skills and talents of Jim Starr. Jim’s most recent projects include working with Environmental Health and Safety to create an online Golf Cart Safety tutorial and converting the CPDT newsletter into an online version.
