The Residence Hall Association (RHA) addresses resident concerns about living on campus, coordinates and sponsors area programs for residents, encourages leadership development among members and acts as a liaison between the residents of UNF and Housing Operations, Residence Life, and different communities on campus.
The Residence Hall Association at the University of North Florida, herein RHA and UNF respectively, has been established for the following reasons:to address resident concerns about their welfare at UNF, to coordinate area representatives and their councils, to represent the voice of UNF residents at state, regional, and national conferences, to encourage leadership development among its members, to build a community by organizing campus-wide programs, and to act as a liaison between the residents of UNF and the Office of Housing and Residence Life, Student Government, and the different residence halls on campus.
The members of the community of UNF and RHA come from diverse backgrounds and social groups, thus we encourage acceptance and appreciation of people regardless of race, gender, age, ethnicity, able-bodiedness, sexual orientation, socioeconomic status, or religious affiliation. We believe that each person has worth and should be treated with dignity and respect.
Looking to get involved on campus and make a change in your housing areas than look no further. Below are ways you can become involved in RHA.
Join your Area Council
A great start to get involved with RHA is through your Area Council. As a resident you are already a member of your Area Council, all you have to do is show up and get involved. You may also run for a variety of Executive Board positions including President, VP for Advertising, VP for Programming, and more! Area Councils are available in every area, contact your RA or RLC for more information about getting involved.
Attend an RHA General Assembly Meeting
Each housing area is required to have a minimum number of representatives attend bi-weekly RHA General Assembly meetings. These meetings take place every other Wednesday at 7pm in the Osprey Clubhouse MPR. All residents are welcome to attend. We look forward to seeing you there!
Stop by our RHA Office
RHA Executive Board members have weekly office hours in the Osprey Clubhouse to talk with residents about programming ideas and resident concerns. Help us help you!
