If you plan to print your poster on the plotter printer in the Office of Undergraduate Research, your poster file should be in a PowerPoint file. The due date for poster files is April 12, 2013. Visit the poster printing webpage to learn more about printing your poster.
History of UNF's University Wide Conference
In 2002, the Office of Undergraduate Research hosted the first university wide multidisciplinary research symposium showcasing student research conducted in collaboration with faculty mentors. Over the years, this conference grew from a fairly small event to a conference hosting more than 100 presentations, renowned keynote speakers, and interdisciplinary panel discussions. In 2011, UNF established the last Friday of regular classes during the spring term of each year as the permanent day for this conference and the conference was renamed SOARS. Each year the conference will be held in the Student Union West on the 3rd floor.
Procedures
Please be prepared to enter the title (no more than 20 words), the names, the affiliations (i.e., universities or organizations with which each author is associated), and an abstract of no more than 200 words. You will also be asked to select first and second choices of venue (poster presentation or oral presentation). We recommend that you prepare this information in a Word document worksheet, obtain feedback from any coauthors or faculty mentors, and then cut and paste the information into the online application. Mentor of the Year Award Nominations
Students and former students are also encouraged to help us recognize those faculty members who have shared with their student protégés a passion for discovery. Undergraduate students and recent graduates may nominate their faculty mentors for the annual UNF Mentor of the Year Award.
