For students not graduating immediately after the completion of a Capstone experience, this Post-Capstone Packet must be submitted no later than four weeks after the termination of the Capstone project. No submissions received later will be considered. In the event that the termination of a Capstone experience occurs within one month of a student’s graduation date, the student must submit the Post-Capstone Packet for early approval. For those graduating in the spring of 2013, your Post-Capstone Packets will be due April 1 in order to give us time to read them and still get you certified for an April 26 graduation. For those not graduating, the packets will be due within four weeks after the project’s termination date.
4. Submit all of the “packet” components together. Make sure to label each component clearly.
The Components of the Post-Capstone Packet
I. Reflection Paper
Please write a 3-5 page reflective essay about your Capstone experience. Make sure to consider the following in your response.
II. Supervisor Approval
Please have your supervisor sign the “Supervisor Evaluation Form."
III. Time-log and Journal
You are also required to submit both a time-log and a journal, though the form these take will vary depending upon the sort of Capstone undertaken. You should thoughtfully consider and use the approach that is most appropriate for your Capstone experience.
(1) TIME-LOG: You must provide a meaningful account—signed by your supervisor—of the hours you spent on your Capstone.
(2) THE JOURNAL: Beyond a more bulleted log of what you did and when, we want you to keep track of your experiences, reflect on them as they unfold, note particular or peculiar things, etc. That’s why we recommend that you keep a journal during your experience. The reflection process should not simply be at the end of or after the Capstone; it should be continuous. Moreover, your reflection paper will be more specific, thorough, and meaningful if you have done this “prep” work. Like the time-log, the form your journal takes will depend on your Capstone experience.
