Assistant Director
Responsible for providing a comprehensive programming to assist UNF’s diverse student population in achieving maximum health. The Assistant Director is also responsible for coordinating departmental surveys, evaluations, assessments, and intervention services.

Ashley Ballard, MPH
Coordinator of Health Education
Responsible for operations of the Paul Shirley Assessment Center (PSAC), the LIFE peer education team, and on and off campus health education programming and training. Certified as an American Red Cross instructor and HIV Counselor, the Coordinator also assists with coordination and marketing of health promotion programming, special events and activities.

Alexia Lewis, MS, RD, LD/N
Adjunct Professor, Dept. of Nutrition and Dietetics
Alexia is a registered dietition who works with the Department of Health Promotions. Her goal is to lead the university community in their efforts to learn about and live a healthier lifestyle through food and nutrition. Alexia provides nutrition counseling to individuals, leads lunch-n-learn education sessions, gives cooking demonstrations, and is available for specialized group sessions upon request.

Health Educator
Michael has earned his BS in Health Science and works as a health educator in the Dept of Health Promotion. Among his diverse interests are Fishing, music, bike riding, paintball, cars, the beach, movies, and swimming.

Jamie graduates this summer with her BS in Health Science with a major in Health Education. She works as a health educator in the Dept of Health Promotion where she concentrates on helping incoming freshmen become involved with health programs. She likes to reading, horseback riding and baking.

A new addition to the Department, Tahli is a junior in the Brooks College of Health majoring in public health. She enjpys finding new ways to cook health, delicious meals, working out and being an inspiration to people looking to adopt a healthier lifestyle. In her spare time Tahli likes gardening, walking her dog, and spending time in the sun.

Chris is a student in the Brooks College of health majoring in Public Health. Chris is a fitness buff and enjoys all manner of sports as well as rock climbing and working out. Look for him in the new gym running the Pros vs. Joes program. Chris also enjoys piano and guitar.

Certified Master Gardener and returned Peace Corps volunteer, responsible for the Ogier Gardens, student staff and volunteers. Also assists with the planning and implementation of Health Promotion’s programs, activities and special events.

Will be completing her BS in Nutrition and Dietetics in the spring of 2013. Likes gardening because everyone has to eat! Enjoys learning about where food comes from and how to create and maintain her own organic garden. Likes to attend workout classes, go on outdoor adventures with her husband, bargain shopping, getting lost in a good book, dancing the night away, and spending time with her three brothers (2 of which happen to be her triplet brothers).

Health Educator - Ogier Gardens
A junior majoring in the Fine Arts, Mattie enjoys painting, printmaking, ceramics and metalworking. When she is not losing sleep over creative pursuits, Mattie can be found getting lost in the woods, attending tea parties with friends and collecting more heirloom tomato varieties than is hardly considered necessary or practical. Mattie is interested in outdoor artwork that interacts with its environment, demonstration gardens as an educational resource and edible landscaping as the ultimate blend of aesthetic and utilitarian principals. Upon graduation, she hopes to be involved in historical garden restoration, urban garden design, and community garden management.

A sophomore studying Anthropology, with a focus on hunter-gatherer/agrarian societies, Ross enjoys the simplicity and the peace-of-mind that self-sufficiency brings.
