John Timpe is the student media advisor for the Spinnaker, Osprey Radio, and Osprey TV. He came to UNF from the Florida Times-Union and has worked for 15 years in the newspaper business, including stints at the San Antonio Express-News, Florida Today, and the Bradenton Herald. He was a broadcast major at the University of Colorado (Boulder) where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Journalism and Mass Communication. He has a wife and two children, and enjoys sailing and snorkeling, reading, traveling to warm places, going to the movies, and teaching nearly-weds / newlyweds at his church.
