The Florida Literacy Coalition (FLC) is in need of volunteers for various types of activities. FLC promotes, supports, and advocates for the effective delivery of quality adult and family literacy services in the state of Florida.
Please go to www.floridaliteracy.org for more information. The "Become a Literacy Volunteer" section of the website will provide you with information on how to get started and what can be expected when becoming a literacy tutor. FLC has an online directory where potential volunteers can search for adult education, literacy, and family literacy programs that need volunteers in their community. If you have questions or would prefer to be mailed a listing of organizations in need of volunteers, please call the FLC's hot line at (800) 237-5113.
The Refugee Resettlement Program at Catholic Charities is looking for a good group of people to be Volunteer Movers of large donations.
If you have a truck and/or some muscle, some time to help out, and would enjoy a volunteer opportunity that would help keep you in shape, they would love to have you on their team!!
