HistoryUpsilon Pi Epsilon (UPE) was first organized at Texas A&M University, College Station, Texas, in 1967, by six students. Since then, the organization has grown internationally with chapters at various colleges and universities in North America and overseas. UPE is the first and only international honor society for the Computing Sciences; and it is recognized by the Association for Computing Machinery and the IEEE Computer Society. Florida's Epsilon Chapter is located at the University of North Florida, Jacksonville, Florida. The Chapter was chartered December 7, 1991, with seventeen members. Since then, the Chapter has grown extensively. |
