Introductory Remarks/Old Business |
| |
Dr. Sánchez-Ruíz congratulated the officers for 2008-2009. He thanked Dr. Jones for continuing to serve as Vice Chair and he acknowledged Dr. Carter and thanked her for agreeing to serve as Secretary.
Dr. Sánchez-Ruíz referred to ”APC Resources Request”, an information item that was submitted by the Faculty Association President to the UNF Faculty on May 1 and attached to the APC agenda for this meeting. The item is a call for understanding on curricular requests and the need for identifying resources to support new courses and programs. In the document, Dr. Klostermeyer suggested that “when preparing APC forms, that Deans, Directors, Chairs, and Faculty preparing APC forms specify all resources we might need in order to offer a viable program to our students.” Dr. Sánchez-Ruíz recommended that when the APC considers packages from colleges proposing the addition of numerous courses that they require a letter from the Deans indicating that resources are adequate for the new courses. |
