Information Item # 1: Submitted by the Campus Technology Committee

The Center for Instruction & Research Technology (CIRT), Information Technology Services (ITS), and the Faculty Association Campus Technology Committee conducted an online survey to gain a better understanding of UNF faculty's use of technology, enablers and barriers to technology use, satisfaction with campus services related to technology, and communication preferences.

The survey was conducted from February 20, 2013 to March 13, 2013. A total of 893 full and part time UNF faculty were invited via email to take the survey, of which 264 completed it, indicating a 29.5% response rate. CIRT, ITS, and CTC are identifying issues to address from the survey results and have assumed the following action items this far:

(1) Reported classroom blackboard and whiteboard issues to Physical Facilities that were specifically identified in the survey

(2) ITS is conducting a soft launch of Virtual Lab, which provides students with access to software applications from any computing device, desktops, laptops, tablets, and smartphones – from any location, at any time (http://www.unf.edu/anf/its/services/Virtual_Software.aspx),

(3) Beginning May 2, CTC, ITS and CIRT will visit classrooms to identify issues with board condition and placement, room lighting, podium connections, equipment, etc. that can be improved.
