| Meeting was called to order at 12:15 p.m.

| Grades - Brayton stated that grade processing in Banner went well. The same number of problems encountered in NERDC were repeated in Banner; mostly because faculty missed deadlines for updating/adding grades. Brayton has recommended to Enrollment Services to move deadlines back 1-2 days to allow for Banner processing. Currently, Brayton is working on an online graduation system as a top priority. Advising is also being worked on. Incompletes and grade changes still have to be done manually. She hopes to have this automated by fall 2006.

| Holds - Students had problems registering in some courses because of “majors-only” and “college-only” holds in Banner. The holds display only one at a time, and students were required to satisfy a hold, just to face another one. Brayton said she has contacted Education, Arts & Sciences, Business, and Computing Sciences to work on simplifying holds for Banner purposes. She also emphasized the importance of training personnel in colleges and depts. to know how and when to remove holds when working with students.
A bug in Banner was discovered in regard to wait-listed students appearing and being counted as part of class rosters. This problem has been addressed. Another issue regarding attendance and earned/non-earned failing grades has emerged for students who receive financial aid. Brayton said she had contacted Enrollment Services to ask about implementing Banner functions required to support financial aid compliance.
Brayton said she will look at the issue of students personal information, address, e-mail, etc. appearing on class rosters. She recommended that the Support Services Cmte. contact Enrollment Services for questions about multiple signatures required on Drop/Add forms. |
Brayton said that Banner 6.0 will be fully implemented by fall. In October 2007, a new version of Banner, version 7, will be implemented. The new version has major changes in functionality. By this time, Brayton said she will be working more in her role of SACS liaison, and staff in Enrollment Services will become more involved in Banner administration. |
Other Business |
Rama offered a draft resolution in response to the request by the Library for additional funding support to acquire more electronic databases in multiple subject areas. The resolution will be general in nature, but the “library database wish list" will be made available to the next Library Director, who begins work in March 2006. |
Meeting adjourned at 1:10 p.m. Next meeting is Feb. 23, 2006. |
