MINUTES OF MEETING
NOMINATIONS AND ELECTIONS COMMITTEE
Monday, October 10, 2005
1:00 PM @ FAMA
Call To Order:
Meeting was called to order at 1 p.m. by Cynthia Jordan who was standing in for Chair Barbara Olinzock.

Members Present:
Sherif Elfayoumy, Cynthia Jordan, Lee Richardson, and Claudia Scaff.

Members Absent:
Barbara Olinzock, Russell Mays, Jan Meires, and Louis Woods.

Others Attendance:
None
 
This meeting was held to count the ballots of the election held on Thursday, October 6, 2005. This was a special election held to fill positions on the UNF Promotion and Tenure Faculty Committee. The number of ballots were counted and compared with the number of signatures on the faculty list to protect the integrity of the election.

The four committee members present, counted and recounted the ballots for verification of the votes. On a sheet of paper, totals were listed for all those (including write-ins) on the ballot. Winners were designated by an asterisk beside their name. The winners were:

At-Large:

Jason Mauro
 
There was a tie vote on the at-large position. Following Faculty Association By-Laws, a coin toss was performed by Cynthia Jordan with the other three members of the committee as witnesses. Sherif Elfayoumy contributed the coin. Jason Mauro won the toss.

New Business/Agenda Items/Information Reports:
Upcoming elections for the University Sabbatical Selection Committee, and the Nominations and Elections Committee were briefly discussed. Since Chair Barbara Olinzock was not present, in-depth discussions of these elections were postponed awaiting her return.

The meeting was adjourned at 1 p.m. The next meeting time TBA by Barbara Olinzock.
