Cindy:  I will be "ccing" you with my N&E Correspondence from now on. Thanks for your help yesterday!  This message was sent to all N&E Committee Members:

In case you missed the Faculty Association Meeting today, we have a "Special Election" for Promotion and Tenure Committee Members in October.  There are 2 "At Large" postions to fill,  as well as one vacancy in the College of  Arts and Science,  1 vacancy in the Coggin School of Business, and  1 vacancy in the College of Education and Human Services.  Here is what we need to do:

1.  Please spread the word that these positions are vacant and we need nominees to fill these spots.  PLEASE NOTE:  These positions can be filled by TENURED faculty ONLY.  The nominee can serve on no more than two faculty committees a year.

2.  Please email your nominees to Barbara Olinzock.  She is still the present chairman of N&E and will be handling the creation of the ballot for this election.  She will need at least one other person to help her with this election.  The election will be held before and during the Faculty Association meeting on Oct. 6th.  Since I will be out of the state that week and cannot assist her; I need a volunteer to help Barbara on Oct. 6th.  There may be nominations from the floor in October.  Since this is a "Special Election" there will not be a two-day voting time; however, there may be absentee ballots to be counted and regular ballots to be counted after the meeting.  Please let me know if you can assist her.

3.  In the meantime, I will be ordering the Faculty Signature Checklist, for faculty to sign when the pick-up their ballots.

4.  Except for Russell (who has already said he cannot attend) please attend the meeting of the N&E committee scheduled for Sept. 22nd at 1 p.m. The Faculty Association Meeting Room has already been reserved for this time.  Thanks for your help!!
