Chair Nolin Discussed how we might move forward with the committee’s stated goals for the year, beginning with the goal of FEC members lending individual support to OFE/CIRT events. Hargis noted that as the spring schedule is currently under construction, committee members can propose an event that they would be interested in attending and promoting, and that may be of particular interest to faculty in the committee member’s own college. These may be devised in consultation with the faculty needs survey data generated last year, though the top item on that – assessment – will be handled by Dr. Smallwood’s series. Scheduling as well as content should be considered. Nolin will re-distribute the needs assessment data with a memo detailing this assignment. FEC members should send ideas to Dr. Hargis in advance of the next meeting, so they can be formally presented there. |

Summer teaching grant reviews should be returned to the OFE secretary (Tom) by Friday, 10/28, or Monday, 10/31. A subcommittee of the FEC will then tally the evaluation scores for each proposal and forward these to Academic Affairs. As some applicants have asked for feedback on their unsuccessful proposals, evaluation forms and information on where the proposal ranked in the field will be available in the OFE. Those interested can also view successful proposals, which are stored in the OFE library; this will be better publicized in advance of the next round of teaching grants. |

Chair Nolin will contact Faculty Association President Judy Solano regarding putting up a slide announcing OFE/CIRT events during the committee report. For expediency, this may be an overhead. |
