ADJUNCT AFFAIRS COMMITTEE

Call to Order:

Lee Richardson called the meeting to order at 2:10.

Not enough members present to approve minutes.

The committee needs to elect a new chair. Lee will send an e-mail to current and in-coming members to elect a chair. |

| |
Lee found out there is not an orientation on campus that includes adjuncts. They aren’t invited to the orientation for faculty because there’s a lot of information on promotion and tenure that doesn’t apply to adjuncts. They also don’t go to the orientation given by human resources since adjuncts don’t receive benefits. |

Lee is documenting information about adjunct pay and where to find the number of adjuncts at UNF. |

|
| |
At the last executive meeting, Lee was advised to follow the guidelines for the outstanding undergraduate teaching awards while developing awards for adjuncts. It was suggested that it would be better not to limit awards by college. |
