Minutes of the February 13, 2006 meeting were previously approved via e-mail. |

The Committee met to continue its review of the University Academic Appeals Committee Bylaws, the process for appealing an academic decision, and the procedure for petitioning University policies and regulations. |

The Committee reviewed a rough draft of updated policies/procedures for appealing an academic decision as discussed at the February 13 th meeting, and developed by Ms. Tanner. |

Review of the rough draft incorporated a detailed assessment of the following documents: 1) The Academic Integrity Code including violations of the Code; 2) the University procedure for appealing an academic decision; 3) the University Academic Appeals Committee Bylaws, and 4) the policy for Petitioning University Policies and Regulations. |

Ms. Tanner volunteered to develop a second rough draft of an updated procedure for appealing an academic procedure incorporating suggestions discussed today.

The Committee decided to invite Ms. Kim Luther to the next Committee meeting to discuss the current appeals process from the perspective of the Office of Enrollment Services. Jack Cummings will extend the invitation to Ms. Luther. |
