Approval of Minutes |

The minutes from March 2, 2006 were approved. |

Academic Programs Review |
| |
COAS, Chemistry & Physics
Log# 05/06-219: APC3 to terminate the Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Sciences. Few students use the major and enrollment is limited. The program has been superseded by current programs in biology, chemistry and physics. Approved.
COAS, Communications
Log #05/06-220: APC1 to add a new course, RTV3XXX, Public Affairs Television. In Section B(1), MMC will be changed to RTV. In Section C(1), repeated RTV will be removed. In Section D(3), Yes will be changed to No and statement will be removed. Approved with changes.
Log #05/06-221: APC3 to change program for the Bachelor of Science in Mass Communications, Electronic Media Track. The APC3 will be withdrawn because it is not needed. The additional course can be taken by anyone as an elective and does not count toward a major or minor.
COEHS, Curriculum & Instruction
Log#05/06-222: APC3 to terminate the Bachelor of Arts in Education, Physical Education Major, Sport Leadership Track. The Sport Leadership Track within the Physical Education Major will no longer be offered beginning Fall semester 2006. The students currently in the program will be able to complete the major. Approved.
Log #05/06-223: APC3 to add a new program, Bachelor of Science in Sport Management, Community Sport Track. Approved.
Log #05/06-224: APC3 to add a new program, Bachelor of Science in Sport Management, Sport Management Track. Approved.

Update on Automating the APC Forms Submission/Review Process
|

| Janet Bosnick read a report from Arturo Sanchez. He met with Lance Taylor, Kathy Hughes and Jeff Durfee and showed them the software that the APC is proposing for automating the APC forms submission and review process. They will meet again in May. Arturo believes that, if the project is funded, ITS will agree to go along.
It is unsure that the funding will be received in time for the plan to be implemented during the summer. Janet believes that the prospect of receiving the funding still looks good. |

Discussion of APC3 EZ Form |

The Committee decided that the old, withdrawn APC3 EZ form which was used to change a list of electives by recording additions or deletions will remain withdrawn. The following statement from the form will be added to the instructions for the APC3.

This form is to be used only for additions
of existing courses and/or deletions from a list of electives in an established program. If additions or deletions result in a change to the number or hours in any category (e.g. core, major, minor, etc.) within the program, then a regular APC 3 form must be submitted. If this request requires the establishment of a new course or the deletion of a course from the master file, please submit the appropriate APC 1 and/or APC 2 form with this form . |

Election of Chair , Co-chair, Vice chair and Secretary for 2006-07.
It was agreed that the slate of officers for 2006-07 would remain the same as for 2005-06.

The next APC meeting will be held Thursday, May 4, 2006 at 10 a.m. in the Faculty Association Meeting Area, Building 11, Room 1327. |
