COAS, Political Science and Public Administration
Log #05/06-213: APC2 to change POS3713, Political Inquiry and Analysis. The course, CPO2002, will be removed as a prerequisite. The course will be limited to sophomores and juniors. Shawn Brayton stated that if a request involves only a change in registration restrictions, the request should be handled in the College and coordinated through Enrollment Services. Approved.

COAS, Music
Log #05/06-214: APC1 to add a new course, MVO4XXX, Wind and Percussion Pedagogy. Section D will be changed from Yes to No because the course does not replace or equate to another existing course. Log #05/06-215: APC3 to change the Bachelor of Music Degree, Woodwinds, Brass, and Percussion Track. Three courses will be replaced with a new required course , MVO4XXX, Wind and Percussion Pedagogy. The request will be held pending clarification of prerequisites.

The two forms were returned to the appropriate faculty for the clarification .

III.  Old Business

Janet Bosnick asked Arturo where we are in the automation process for the APC forms. He replied that he and Katharine Brown met with Lance Taylor, Judy Solano, Kathy Hughes, and Jeff Durfee and discussed a pilot project. Lance is interested and would like to call another meeting to discuss the technical aspects of the project.

Discussion ensued on two emails that Katharine Brown sent to the Committee. The forms APC3 EZ and the APC2 Minor were taken out by the APC last year. There was some discussion on the usefulness of the two forms. Cindy Chin will send the forms and instructions to the Committee so that the forms can be discussed at the next meeting.

Katharine asked if a 6000 level course can be added if no graduate program exists for the course. Shawn will check on this, but does not think that this is allowed.
